Capturing That Look Forever.

Hand-drawn portraits that capture the unique soul of your dog.

Watch Pencil Become Personality

How It Started

Pencil Pooch started with a single drawing.

After my parents lost their dear Scottish Terrier, Hettie, I wanted to create a memorial that actually felt like her.

Seeing my family’s reaction when I handed them that portrait changed everything. It moved me deeply.

I realised that a drawing isn’t just pencil on paper; it’s a special way to bring your companion home.

Today, my mission is to ensure you get that same feeling when you open your box. It’s more than art; it’s a tribute.

Meet The Artist

Hi, I’m Oliver – the hands behind Pencil Pooch.

A decade ago I quit my engineering job and became a dive instructor. It was fun, but not sustainable long term.

I wanted to create something of my own. After a year of trying to figure it out, the penny finally dropped – art.

Even at school, I always had a knack for drawing, and love animals so I decided to start a dog portrait business.

My goal is simple: To ensure your companion’s memory is preserved with the same level of care you give them.

I want to capture more than a likeness. I want to capture your dog’s character. So you can look at your portrait and say – “It’s them!”

That’s why every portrait I create is a 12-hour commitment, layering professional grade Polychromos pencil on Bristol Board archival paper. Because it’s not just art. It’s that look forever.
